How We Train

Dynamic Warm Up

We begin each session with a dynamic warm up to loosen and prepare the body. This is critical because it helps increase range of motion and flexibility, which also decreases the chance of injury.

Ball Handling

Dribbling under control is one of the most crucial aspects of basketball. Each dribbling drill has a purpose and we always emphasize the details behind each drill. We provide our athletes with the opportunity to sharpen their ball control, learn how/when to manipulate the ball, defenders, and understand how to use efficient body movements with their dribble for any situation.

Performance

Most athletes are asked to do something on the court that they cannot do…yet. We always tell our players that they can only progress as much as they’ve trained their bodies. Skill without performance training will limit reaching their potential. Performance training includes the following areas: strength, conditioning, speed, agility, endurance, timing, balance, and explosiveness. A greater understanding of our bodies will lead to greater opportunity to perform skills efficiently at a higher level.

Focused Skill Training

Each session has a particular skill that we focus on. The skills are broken down step by step to illustrate the importance of that particular skill. Each drill is expected to be done with the emphasis that we are not trying to win the drill, we are learning how to win the game.
